Won the Finnish race "Eläintarhanajot" (finnish) "Djurgårdsloppet" (swedish) class sports 2000cc+ in 1954 driven by Michael Head (GB) many times the picture of another Jaguar, D-type with which he won again in 1955 is shown instead of this C-type. I'll try to dig a couple of pictures of the real deal!

I knew this car back in the 1970's when I worked for Irchester Garage in Northamptonshire. It spent most of it's life under a dust cover in the main workshops. It's only outings were to local motor shows and trade shows where it was displayed on the Irchester Garage stand to attract customers. I was fortunate enough to be driven to a couple of these shows in the car by Tony Woods - the owner at that time (not sure if he still owns it?). My overriding memory of those rides was the incredible noise the car made and at just how well it went.
I seem to remember a plaque in the car stating that it was driven by Sterling Moss, but I can't be certain.

This car belonged to my mother and was re-registered FST 777 and she and my father successfully raced it until 1955. I would so love to know where the car is now as it would be such a treat for my mother to see her old beloved car again. We have so many photos of her winning many races in this car.

Article from AutoWeek 3/13/12, perhaps we shall see more of this car soon!

Jaguar will return to factory-backed motorsports in 2012 with a program intended to showcase great racing Jaguars of the past in select historic-racing events.

The company announced the program, dubbed Jaguar Heritage Racing, on Monday. For the first time since 1956, factory-supported C- and D-types will take to the track, gracing some of the most famous circuits in the world including Goodwood, the Nürburgring and the Mille Miglia.

Sir Stirling Moss was the guest of honor at the announcement, which was held at the RAC Club in London. On display was the race-winning C-type XKC 005.
